It's been really heartening over the last few years seeing wellbeing move further up the workplace agenda.
It's been even more encouraging to witness and be part of the ongoing conversations about what actually makes a difference to personal, team and community wellbeing.
What's clear is there is no 'quick fix' and no 'one size suits all'. But we do know that strengths-based interventions can have a positive impact on personal wellbeing, interpersonal relationships and performance.
We also know that knowing what your strengths are is great for wellbeing, but using your strengths on a regular basis is even better.
The challenge is that it's pretty easy to find out what your strengths are; much harder to change your habits so that you're using them more.
Last month we had a fantastic opportunity at the University of Birmingham to try out our newest Personal Development Programme that aims to help people to thrive through building strengths habits.
We thought we'd share the outline of the programme with you in case you can make use of it for workshops you're designing or delivering for your clients.
The programme consists of two half day workshops and our strengths-based feedback process, At My Best 360.
You'll see from the outline, the focus was experiential learning and self-reflection. It's always so tempting to fill workshops with content, even though we know it's not the way to bring about behaviour change.
The group I was working with absolutely rose to the challenge. It's unusual t be asked to spend so much time thinking about yourself, and it can be pretty daunting; this group was a pleasure to work with. They were the perfect example of what happens if you ask people the right questions and give them a safe space to reflect.
