At My Best Teambuild

An uplifting way to bring people together

When teams are given the space to reflect on who they are at their best, individually and collectively, things change.

Energy lifts. Conversations deepen. People feel seen and appreciated.

That’s been our consistent experience of strengths-based teambuilding. These sessions are not only impactful, they’re genuinely uplifting and enjoyable to take part in.

People love the chance to reflect on their own strengths, to hear what others value in them and to share their appreciation of each other. It’s a refreshing change from the usual focus on problems and frustrations.

Why it works

Our approach is grounded in applied positive psychology and years of practical experience. It focuses on building on what already works, rather than fixing perceived deficits.

In practice, strengths-based team sessions help teams to:
  • Build stronger connections and psychological safety
  • Develop a shared sense of purpose
  • Recognise and value individual differences
  • Increase trust, appreciation, and a sense of belonging
  • Turn insights into clear, practical action

Teams often leave feeling more connected, more optimistic and more confident about how they can best work together.

What it looks like

A typical session runs for around 4 hours. It’s structured, engaging and uplifting in a very grounded way.

We often include the following elements:

Clarifying team purpose
Exploring why the team exists and how its work contributes to the wider organisation.

Exploring the team at its best
Reflecting on what the team looks and feels like when it is working well.

Identifying personal strengths
Giving individuals the opportunity to recognise and articulate their own strengths.

Understanding valued contributions
Sharing appreciation and feedback about the strengths teammates value most in each other.

Reflecting on collective strengths
Identifying the team’s shared strengths and how these enable success.

Individual and team action planning
Agreeing practical actions to use strengths more intentionally in everyday work.

Alongside insight and action, there is usually a lot of warmth and laughter as people experience a different kind of team conversation.
